Reed sparks Ike girls, 77-55; Gordon, Fisher ignite boys
Eisenhower proved once again on Tuesday night why it is not only a forced to be reckoned with in Lawton, but also in the state.
Both Eagles squads are ranked in the Top 5 of Class 5A, and they cruised to a pair of victories over Lawton High at Wolverines Gymnasium. A strong second-quarter push helped lift the Ike girls over LHS, 77-55, and the boys followed suit with an emphatic, 84-64, victory behind monster nights from Antonio Gordon and RJ Fisher.
The Eagles return to action Friday for road contests with Del City. Meanwhile, the Wolverines close their three-game homestand with a matchup against Choctaw, which sports two Top 15 teams.
Reed, Ike girls deck LHS
Jaeda Reed made it clear early on she would have to be stopped for Lawton High to have a chance.
Unfortunately for the Wolverines, Reed was punishing in the paint, scoring a game-high 24 and leading Ike to its convincing win.
Eagles coach Daniel Wall said Reed's performance was impressive, but he also liked the way others contributed in their own ways.
