Faith Fitness Cafe serves healthier food
A new kind of restaurant is open in town one that shows people how to eat healthier and learn more about processed foods.
Faith Fitness Cafe is the brainchild of Lynn Williams and the subject is so important to her that she wrote a book about processed foods. The cafe is at 701 NW 17th Street, in the northeast parking behind the strip mall on the corner of Northwest 17th Street and Ferris Avenue.
Hours of operation are 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. and from 5-8 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday; it is also open one Sunday a month with a special menu.
"I had so many kinfolks who were in ill health as the result of what they ate," Williams said. "I want to make sure I can reach as many people as I can with healthful changes in their lifestyles. I named the restaurant Faith and Fitness because I am an ordained minister and I thought that was a good name for it. I want to make sure people enjoy their meals here and understand fitness too."
Williams and her husband, both originally from Alabama, have been in Lawton for 16 years.
The menu consists of beverages, including smoothies, tea, protein shakes and a special homemade punch. Also offered are several salads, sandwiches, soups and dips, chips and cookies and sides.
