A burglar may not have shed sweat or tears Monday night but police said he left behind plenty of blood.
LPD Sgt. Bryan Bowles said he was called to 1516 NW Taylor after the resident returned home to find his window busted out and a bloody mess left behind. The resident said that while he was out between 10-10:20 p.m., someone busted out the front bedroom window to gain entry, according to the report. Once inside, the burglar went through a bedroom closet and began piling up a hat collection on the floor next to a liquor bottle in what appeared to be an attempt to stuff items inside a Marlboro duffel bag not the resident's, Bowles said.
The burglar was apparently cut either getting in or out and left blood throughout the room and fingerprints on the shards of glass and the liquor bottle, Bowles said. The items were taken into evidence.
