Educators and safety professionals from across Oklahoma are in Lawton this week for the annual Career Tech Safety Conference at the Great Plains Technology Center.
Representatives from all of Oklahoma's 29 career tech centers, including GPTC, are taking part in the event, which focuses on the latest developments in industrial safety education. At least 50 people will attend.
The conference started Wednesday afternoon and will run through noon Friday.
It will feature a number of speakers addressing safety-education topics, said Shawn Johnson, safety coordinator at GPTC.
The conference kicked off Wednesday afternoon with tours of the city/county emergency services center, Republic Paper and the Medicine Park water plant.
