Paul and Kara Hillman pulled back the curtains on their newest McDonalds project Tuesday afternoon.
The restaurant location at 3144 Cache Road has undergone a remodeling process since the end of May. Paul Hillman said the project was done in an effort to improve the restaurant and keep it fresh.
"About every 10 years, a store needs to be refreshed and this is what we did with this location," he said.
Aside from obvious cosmetic changes to the outside of the building, which make it look more like the rebuilt Sheridan Road location, a double drive-through was added to help better serve customers. The addition allows the restaurant to serve twice the capacity it did before the remodeling. Hillman said drive-through was one of the main factors behind the project.
"This location serves a substantial amount of people and attracts a tremendous amount of business," he said. "We wanted to make it as convenient as possible to come here."
Additional landscaping work was done to the perimeter of the property to make it more attractive to customers. The property is now compliant with city code for landscaping. Not content to meet the status quo, Hillman went beyond the requirements for additional landscaping and scenery. In addition, almost all of the lights both inside the restaurant and on the exterior are now LED.
