An Altus couple was arrested Thursday night after police say the focus of an investigation turned from truancy to felony territory.
Investigators say they were called to a home in the 400 block of West Cypress after someone reported a teenager missing from school was living there, according to Altus Police Chief Tim Murphy. Murphy said when they got to the home, they found the teen smoking marijuana with the couple.
Marvin Ingraham, 42, of 420 W. Cypress, was arrested when police discovered he was growing several marijuana plants inside his house, Murphy said. Approximately 25 marijuana plants were confiscated along with grow lights and other paraphernalia used to grow the marijuana, he said. The chief believes the pot's street value ranges into the thousands of dollars.
