A 12-year-old girl suffered a broken femur after she was hit by a vehicle in northwestern Comanche County Friday evening.
Cache Fire Chief Dale Winham said that his firefighters responded to a pedestrian/vehicle collision at the Sonrise Ranch near Cache Road, just west of Northwest 197th Street around 6 p.m. The first responder reported a need for a mediflight from the scene, Winham said. The second arrival reported that a 12-year-old girl had suffered a broken femur she had been struck while taking trash to the roadway. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol closed the road for a short time in anticipation of an arriving helicopter.
The severity of her injury prompted a call for an ambulance to "load and go" to a Lawton hospital, Winham said.
