CACHE An exhibit of rare photos of Comanche Chief Quanah Parker will be on display during an Indian art market and taco sale this weekend.
The Tribal Art Center and Bad Eagle Gallery, 423 West C Ave., will be the site for the art market and Indian taco sale. Indian tacos will be available only on Saturday. The market will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
Shoppers will find original artwork and handmade crafts by local tribal artists, said Eleanor McDaniel, coordinator. Booth space is $10 per day. Space is limited call ahead. Bring your own tables.
The Bad Eagle gallery will feature the rare photos of Parker from the collection of Comanche tribal elder and historian Sam DeVenney.
"As a historian, Sam photographs Comanches and other tribal people as they are today and decades ago," McDaniel said. "He has made a major contribution in preserving the history and culture of the Comanche people through his enormous collection of old photographs."
