FORT COBB Members of a newly-elected, if not federally recognized, Kiowa Business Committee are having a meeting of tribal members to hear different opinions in hopes of finding resolution.
The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. today in room 436-437 at the Caddo-Kiowa Tech Center in Fort Cobb.
The group will attempt to provide its position regarding the status of the KBC. The rival KBC has previously stated that it is recognized by the BIA Anadarko Agency and that the December election is invalid.
The Kiowa Business Committee has been in turmoil for more than two years. Things with many of the members of the current KBC came to a boil in February 2011 when a recall petition presented by Thomascina Tsoodle Leader resulted in an impasse between the KBC consisting of Chairman Ron Twohatchet, Amber C. Toppah, Charlotte Bointy, Alva D. Tsoodle, Herschel Sahmaunt, Steve Smith and Ricky Horse who were recalled during an election
