OKLAHOMA CITY Science Museum Oklahoma will receive a $12 million grant from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation, the museum announced.
The donation will support the first phase of a new master plan designed to provide Oklahoma with a science museum of national statute, the museum said. The initial phase will include an exhibit designed for families with young children; new main entrance and lobby; and exterior improvements. The entire project is scheduled for completion by summer 2015.
The new 21,000-square-foot exhibit will be a "children's museum" within the museum. While the focus will be on children 3-6, the exhibit will feature multiple layers of activities designed to educate and inspire the entire family.
