A 29-year-old Duncan man is in Stephens County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bond after being accused of home invasion and assault.
Justin Dawayne Elix was charged in Stephens County District Court with felony counts of burglary and aggravated assault and battery, according to court records.
The district attorney's office entered Elix's conviction history into the court record: burglary in August 2001 and August 2003 and escape from arrest or detention in May 19 all in Stephens County.
Elix, who appeared in court for his initial appearance Thursday, is accused of kicking in the door of Jair Gomez's apartment, 311 S. 15th in Duncan, on Nov. 25 and breaking a large television and Gomez's nose.
Duncan Police Det. William Fitzhugh said Gomez told police that he'd been drinking with a woman when a tall, slender black man he identified as Elix kicked in the front door and began to assault him, according to an affidavit filed in court. During the scuffle, Gomez's 60-inch flat screen LED television was destroyed. Gomez was treated for a fractured nose, facial swelling and fracture at Duncan Regional Hospital's emergency room, Fitzhugh said.
A 25-year-old Gracemont man remains in the Caddo County Jail in lieu of $1 million bond for a pair of felony charges involving a November shooting.
