DUNCAN Duncan City Council members will have a full agenda facing them today including looking at contracting for an emergency management plan and a possible revision or variance for burn permits.
On the agenda is the consideration of a contract for consulting services between Hazard Mitigation Specialists, LLC and the city.
The Oklahoma City company will develop a one-year plan along with input from the city's fire and police department, said City Manager Jim Frieda.
"This will cost $10,000 divided up into four payments," he said. "We have a contract with Stephens County for emergency management but we need to have our own plan."
With the recentl lifting of the statewide burn ban, City of Duncan residents have been looking at applying for a burn permit. The current city ordinance calls for at least 10 acres of land before a permit can be issued, Frieda said.
