Birds are the focus of Ricky G. Jones' exhibit at the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center.
"These are awesome bird pictures," volunteer Donna Phillips said of the exhibit that will be up through the end of October.
From the Martin Park Nature Center come photos of the Northern Cardinal, the Carolina Wren and the Fox Sparrow. The remainder were taken on the refuge itself. In addition to bird life, they depict two longhorn bulls in a face-off, a family of black-tailed prairie dogs, sumac in brilliant shades of red and a picture titled "Golden Leaves Post Oak Lake" with a "Prayer of the Woods" reprinted below.
This makes the fifth one-man show in as many years for the Oklahoma City photographer. The Visitor Center is at the intersection of Oklahoma 49 and Oklahoma 115. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. until daylight savings time ends, when it will start closing at 4:30 p.m. each day.
