GRANDFIELD The 2012 Grandfield Western Days will be staged here Oct. 6 on Second Street south of U.S. 70 in the downtown area with a full schedule of activities.
"We hope a lot of people come and attend," said Melody Archer, committee chairman. "We had a great turnout last year and hope for even better this year."
The event will kick off with the Masons' Pancake Breakfast from 6-9 a.m. Vendor registration and setup will begin at 9 a.m. along with sidewalk registration from 9-11 a.m., a drawing from 9-11 a.m. and a winner for the sidewalk art to be announced at 2 p.m.
There will be a chili cook-off from 8-11 a.m. with the winner to be announced immediately following. There will also be 3-on-3 basketball starting at 9 a.m. and continuing throughout the day, along with a cookie contest at 9 a.m., a parade at 11 a.m., live entertainment from 12:30-4 p.m., bingo and carnival games from 1-4 p.m., a cute "Wild, Wild West" baby contest drawing at 2 p.m.; and a street dance featuring the Paul Lopez Band from 8 p.m. to midnight.
