DUNCAN It was a day to honor heroes whether military, law enforcement, firefighters or teachers and the business community turned out to do just that.
The occasion was the Eleventh Annual Heroes Luncheon sponsored by the Duncan Chamber of Commerce along with many of the chamber members.
Duncan Schools Superintendent Sherry Labyer was selected to give the keynote address which she did by giving her definition of a hero.
"Heroes are teachers, firefighters, police officers, EMT's and medical professionals and military they are all heroes," she said. "They might not be rich or famous, they might not have super powers but they are heroes in their community."
She went on to talk about how heroes are leaders, professionals and have the ability to communicate.
Showing a video she had pulled from the Internet, she said a hero is someone who helps others.
