Empire hosting benefit concert

EMPIRE - In an effort to boost the Empire Public Schools athletic department, three bands will boost the volume at the Bulldog football field this weekend.

Chance Anderson Band, Chase Sanford Band and Hijackers Hollow will kick off a concert benefit at 6 p.m. Saturday to raise money for the school. A death in the athletic department fieldhouse in mid-July rocked the community with tragedy, and resulted in the loss of more than $100,000 in equipment.

The event, organized by the Empire Fire Department, costs $10 per ticket for adults; children ages 8-12 are $5 and those under 8 years old will be admitted free. Concessions will be available for attendees.

Chance Anderson, who has opened for Joe Walsh, Dierks Bentley, Eli Young Band and Cody Canada, among others, is an Empire native. Hijackers Hollow also hails from the town, while Chase Sanford Band is a Dallas-based band.
