John Charles Vana
Funeral for John Charles Vana, 85, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Indiahoma with Pastor Patrick McPherson officiating.

Mr. Vana died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010

Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens under direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Michael Glenn Parsons
EL RENO  Memorial service for Michael Glenn Parsons, 42, El Reno, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Yukon Czech Hall, Yukon.

Mr. Parsons died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010.

Arrangements are under direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service, Lawton.

Michael Louis Stock Sr.
SHAWNEE  Funeral for the Rev. Lt. Col. Michael Louis Stock Sr., 66, Shawnee, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at New Beginnings Church with the Rev. Larry Sparks officiating.

Mr. Stock Sr. died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, at his home.

Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under direction of Walker Funeral Service, Shawnee.

He was born July 16, 1944, in Battle Creek, Mich., to Louis Avery Stock and Anna Jane Schweitzer. He graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in Michigan, Western Michigan University, Central Michigan University, Army Command and General Staff College, and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He earned three master's degrees. He was retired from the United States Army with the rank of lieutenant colonel and spent the last several years as pastor of Oakland Chapel Baptist Church. He married Sally Schipper on Dec. 6, 1966, in Kalamazoo, Mich. He enjoyed hunting and wildlife.
He was survived by his wife, Sally Stock, of the home; three children and their spouses: Susan and Cliff McMullen, of Shawnee; Sheryl and Daniel Amegin, of South Carolina; and Michael Stock Jr. and Holli, of Binger; seven grandchildren: Ashley Amegin, Rebekah McMullen, Hannah Jane Stock, Jonathan Amegin, Joshua McMullen, Spencer Stock and Josie Stock; one sister, Sandra Shepardson and husband, Tom, Scottville, Mich.; one brother, Gary Stock, Lawton, Mich.; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oakland Chapel Baptist Church, 915 E. Oakland, Shawnee 74801.

David M. Lucas
Funeral for David M. Lucas, 69, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Christian Church with the Rev. Kim Hames, pastor, officiating.

David passed away Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, at a Farmington, N.M., medical center.

Burial will be in Highland Cemetery under direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service.

David was born in Lawton April 20, 1941, to David F. and Kate King Lucas. He attended Washington Elementary, Central Junior High and Lawton High School, graduating in 1959. On June 30, 1961, he married Virginia Stanley, and they had two children: Susan Lucas Crowell and Kimberly Lucas Barnthouse. He attended Cameron University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in music from Phillips University in Enid in 1965. He later received his master's degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. In 1965, David began his teaching career as band director of Eisenhower Junior High which at that time was located in the high school building. He began teaching as the high school band director in 1967. He taught at Eisenhower for 34 years before retiring in 1998. David was honored as Lawton's Teacher of the Year for 1982. He served in various positions of leadership for the Oklahoma Bandmaster's Association. During his career and after retirement, he served as an adjudicator for the Oklahoma Secondary Activities Association and Tri State Music Festival in Enid. In 2001 David was inducted into the Oklahoma Bandmaster's Hall of Fame. He was a member of NEA, OEA, MENC and OBA organizations.

David and Virginia volunteered for the U.S. Forest Service Information Center on Highway 145 in the San Juan National Forest, Rico, Colo., for nine years. He volunteered until the time of his death. He loved being with his three grandsons very much and accompanied them at music festivals and drove the golf cart at Junior PGA golf tournaments. David was a lifetime member of First Christian Church and a member of the church choir. He has served as choir director, organist, deacon and member of First Christian Church Memorial Trust Board. David enjoyed camping, golfing, fishing, dutch oven cooking and traveling in his RV. He was a member of the Wichita Mountains Good Sam Club.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia, of 49 years; his daughters and sons-in-law: Susan and David Crowell, of Tulsa; and Kimberly and Michael Barnthouse; and grandsons: Chad and Lucas, of Tulsa; and Joshua, of Enid; his brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Carol Lucas, Oklahoma City; a nephew, Greg, Oklahoma City; a niece, Keena Lucas Pratt and her husband, Daryl Pratt, Frisco, Texas; his brother-in-law, Michael Stanley, Lawton; two nephews: Corey Stanley, Benton, La.; and Justin Stanley, Cache; a niece, Kristen Stanley Arnold and her husband, Brandon, Lawton; his sister-in-law, Sylvia Stanley Weber and her husband, David Weber, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Elmer, Okla.; two nephews: Rob Minor and Mark Minor, both of San Jose, Calif.; and a niece, Cindy Minor Faulkner and her husband Jeff, San Jose, Calif.

James R. Patterson
Graveside service for James R. "Randy" Patterson, 57, Lawton, will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Rose Hill Cemetery.

James R. Patterson passed away Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, in Lawton.

Arrangements are under direction of McRay Funeral Home.

He was born Dec. 9, 1952, at Camp Chaffee, Ark., to James Vaughn Patterson and Pauline Thelma Patterson. He graduated from Lawton High School in 1971. He pursued Drafting and AutoCAD classes at Cameron University through the years. Randy was married in 1978 to Anita Faye Ross. They divorced in 1981 but remained friends. Randy remarried in 1983 to Sylvia Jane Wallace, and they resided in the Oklahoma City and Washington, D.C., areas until their divorce in 1991. Randy remarried again in 1992 to Joanmarie Stancampiano, and they had a son, Franklin "Frank" Louis Patterson. They lived in the Oklahoma City area until their divorce in 1996. Randy had a variety of interests. He was very passionate about television, late 1960's rock, history, international events, investigative reporting, science fiction, and University of Oklahoma athletics. He always had a natural ability for carpentry and landscaping.

And, as it has been said for over a hundred years:

"He is but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner, all is well, all is well."

Survivors include beloved mother, Pauline, of Lawton; brothers: James Robert Patterson, Salem, Ore.; and William Paul Patterson, of Norman; sister, Susan Rebecca Paylor, of Yukon; son, Franklin Louis Patterson, of Yukon; special son, Nathan James Ross, of Lawton; two aunts; one uncle, numerous cousins; and countless friends who touched his life completely.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Archie Burr "A.B." and Alice Patterson; and James Theodore "Ted" and Flora Stringfield; his father, James Vaughn Patterson; and his brother, John Richard "Rick" Patterson.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Patricia 'Patsy' Ann Bronson
MCALESTER  Graveside service for Patricia "Patsy" Ann Bronson, 76, McAlester, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at LaBelle Cemetery, LaBelle, Mo.

She died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, in Lawton.
