South Carolina man dies in accident

A South Carolina man was killed in a Saturday morning accident, which sent two others to the hospital.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 47-year-old William Crubaugh, Summerville, S.C., was driving driving east on U.S. 62 when his 2007 GMC pickup struck a 2002 Chevrolet pickup driven by 22-year-old David Dixon shortly before 11:15 a.m. Dixon was driving south on Indiahoma Road and failed to stop at the intersection with U.S. 62. Crubaugh's vehicle struck the Chevrolet pickup in the driver's side front fender.

Crubaugh was transported to the hospital, where he later died from massive head and trunk internal injuries. His wife, 47-year-old Barbara Crubaugh, was airlifted to the OU Medical Center in Norman, where she remains in critical condition with trunk internal injuries.

Dixon refused treatment at the scene for minor head and arm injuries. Richard Birch, a 66-year-old passenger in Dixon's vehicle, was transported to the hospital and is listed in fair condition with head and leg injuries. Another passenger, Dixon's brother Jonathon Dixon, 21, refused treatment at the scene for minor injuries.
