Light Fest set Saturday at Lawton park

Movie, pumpkin patch, zipline and more in store

From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, volunteers from all over Southwest Oklahoma will be at Elmer Thomas Park putting up lights and displays for the upcoming Holiday in the Park. 

This is the beginning of Light Fest, which will continue until after dark, with a spooky movie being shown. 

At 2 p.m., the funfest activities begin. Activities include:
• Pumpkin Patch, where children and adults can purchase pumpkins and paint them;
• Pumpkin decorating contest;
• Swamp Dunk Tank;
• Spooky Face-painting;
• Close your eyes balloon darts;
• Bounce Houses;
• The Spooky Car Show, which is co-sponsored by Townsquare Media;
• Run for your life obstacle course, which is child-friendly;
• Broomride Zipline;
• Hayride, and
• Crazy costume contest.

Also at 2 p.m., the Holiday House will open and food truck vendors will open for business. Both the Holiday House and the food trucks will be open until 9:30 p.m.

From 4:30-5 p.m.the Pumpkin Decorating Contest begins, and at 5:30 p.m. the Best Car Show Awards will be revealed at the car show site.
