RollerGirls win final home bout

The 580 RollerGirls closed out the home portion of the 2017 season with a decisive win over the Oklahoma Victory Dolls Outlaws.

The RollerGirls took the win with a 276-75 margin to boost the season record to 4-6. The home squad came out like gangusters to take a 135-40 halftime lead.

The 580 jammers were on fire. Molly Meet Your Maker had 144 points; Scarlett Johachet, 115; B. Baggins, 11; and Danni Bannani, 6.

"Coach Daniel Bates had Scar and Molly jam back-to-back rotating in Danni Bannani and team captain, B. Baggins," said Marie Berberea, a.k.a. Molly Meet Your Maker. "One of the things we're working on is our jammer rotation."

Sarina Baltierra, a.k.a. Scarlett Johatchet, was named MVP jammer and Lisa Smith, a.k.a. B. Baggins, earned top blocker nods.

"Skating short roster, injuries, skaters coming off injuries and still, a great home closing win," said Coach Bates. "We are only going to improve. I'm extremely proud of their hard work and the changing expectations. Yes, the competition will get stronger, but 580 RollerGirls has the heart, the skills and the work ethic to skate with just about anybody."
