Mac, LHS set for home tilts
Both Lawton High and MacArthur will look to get back to winning ways when they host 5A opponents tonight.
The Wolverines host Bishop McGuinness while the Mac teams face Duncan.
The girls games start at 6 p.m. and the boys will tip immediately after.
LHS boys look to close out games better
In the big scheme of things, 2012 wasn't all that long ago. But for Bishop McGuinness basketball fans, it must feel like a lifetime.
That was the year the McGuinness boys won the Class 5A state championship, one year after their girls accomplished the same feat. And although both Irish teams enter tonight's games at Wolverine Gym ranked in the top 20, neither have looked like the juggernauts of old this year.
Good luck getting Lawton High boys coach Eric Wiley to believe the Irish aren't still dangerous. He knows better than to look at McGuinness' 5-10 record as an indicator for what they can do.
"Bishop McGuinness is always a team with shooters," Lawton High coach Eric Wiley said. "We just can't get lazy on defense."
