Eisenhower NoteBook / Week 10
Eisenhower knows for sure who it will play in the first round of the playoffs and it's a team the Eagles are quite familiar with.
The Eagles have sewn up the third spot in District 5A-2, uncapable of catching Bishop McGuinness, but still owning the tiebreakers over the teams behind them.
The positions have been decided in District 5A-1 as well, with Ardmore clinching the district crown and Altus finishing second. This means the Eagles will face the Bulldogs at Hightower Memorial Stadium for the first round.
It will be the first time the two programs will have faced each other since 2013, though they used to routinely face off in Week 2 each season from 2006-13.
Of the eight games played in that span, Ike was victorious in seven. But it is a different era.
Altus, currently ranked 5th in the Class 5A rankings, is two years removed from a state championship and the only blemish on their record this year is a loss to No. 2 Ardmore.
Details regarding the time and date of the game will be revealed next week.
