Ways for men to lead healthier lives

Western culture's literature and movies depict men as being strong, silent types  no-nonsense individuals capable of protecting the "weaker" sex. The reality is that men in the U.S., on average, die earlier than women.

The questions are why and what can be done about it?

June is Men's Health Month and since Men's Health Week begins today and runs through Father's Day on Sunday, Dr. Steve Egwuonwu, who practices Internal Medicine at Southwestern Surgical Affiliates, weighed in on the causes for men dying at least five years younger than women according to statistics and what they can do to beat the odds.
