Comanche County Health Department offers free Healthy Baby Learning Series
Comanche County Health Department's free Healthy Baby Learning Series will feature safe sleep and tobacco cessation 2-3 p.m. on Thursday at 1010 S. Sheridan. This free program is centered around women who are either expecting or have children younger than age 2, and caregivers of small children.
These monthly classes are open to the community, and it's not necessary to find a sitter. Marquise Bishop, public health educator, said everyone is encouraged to bring the children.
On Thursday, Terry Miller, director of public health nursing at Indian Health Services, will present "Safe Sleep." Sandy Foster, TSET Health Living Program director for Comanche County Health Department, will present "Tobacco Cessation."
"This is a program developed by the Oklahoma State Department of Health to help educate our mothers and caregivers here in Comanche County to help decrease the infant mortality rate," Bishop said.
