Pro Musica will ring in holidays with concert
Lawton's Pro Musica will kick off it 15th season next month with its "Holiday Concert."
The Holiday Concert is a tradition of the Pro Musica season, designed to get people into the holiday spirit.
The evening will be filled with festive choral music including classics such as "O Come all Ye Faithful" as well as fun popular Christmas themes.
"We will definitely be doing Deck the Halls," said Nancy Willoughby, director and founder of Pro Musica.
According to Willoughby, audience participation is a staple of the concerts.
"One of the things we do at every concert is we ask our audience to join with us. We do it at every concert, we started it early on and we found our audience loved to join us and it's so much fun to see everyone singing together," she said.
Along with the choral singers, the Holiday Concert also will feature Yiuka Chan Spannagel and William Spannagel on four hands piano. Additionally, the special feature "Gloria" will be performed by John Rutter with Jim Lambert on timpani and Tom Willoughby on organ.
When asked what she looked forward to most as director, Willoughby claimed it was a toss up.
