Known as the ONE awards, the inclusion of the LPO among the finalists is a great honor, according to Patty Neuwirth, Executive Director of the LPO.
"It validates the hard work that our volunteers and maestro put in to bringing live professional symphony concerts and outreach to Lawton and Southwest Oklahoma," Neuwirth said.
Awards will be presented to the finalists in eight different categories: Arts and Humanities, Community, Education, Health Services, Self-Sufficiency, Seniors, Youth Development and an open category.
The winners will be announced on April 14.The finalists will be divided into eight categories. Category winners will be awarded $7,500. Each finalist will be awarded $5,000 regardless of whether or not they win their category. At the end of the evening one grand prize winner will be awarded $10,000.
