Arts n’ Action Festival set for Saturday
FREDERICK - The Frederick Arts and Humanities Council will sponsor its 45th Annual Arts n' Action Festival of the Arts be at 10 a.m. Saturday on the Tillman County Courthouse square.
The festival will feature works of numerous artists and crafts people, along with food booths and entertainment from singers, dancers, gymnasts, musicians and comedians. It is a juried art show with artists and craftspeople selling jewelry, pottery, mosaics, yard art, wood carvings, photography, paintings, soaps, and other items.
Admission to the festival is free.
Purchase awards will be available for purchase during the festival. A purchase award is a gift certificate that can be used at any artist's booth at Arts n' Action. The awards are pre-sold each year and advertised to potential artists as money already spent at the show guaranteed money that each artist has the possibility of going home with. For information or to purchase an award, call Bobby Jackson at 580-335-7447.
Also during Saturday's festival, the Tillman County Historical Society will be selling windows that were removed last year from the Tillman County Courthouse as part of a renovation project. The sale will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. inside the grounds of the Pioneer Townsite Museum adjacent to the courthouse. The historical society has more than 100 of the old windows, many dating to the building's 1921 construction.
