Southwestern Medical Center names Rodgers as its new CEO
Larry Rodgers has been named as the new CEO of Southwestern Medical Center, the hospital's owners announced Wednesday.
RCCH HealthCare Partners said Rodgers is coming from Missouri, where was chief executive officer of the 423-bed, two-campus Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff. Rodgers' first day at Southwestern Medical Center is expected to be Dec. 11.
"We are very pleased to welcome Larry and his wife Melody to the Lawton/Ft. Sill area," Shawn Anderson, Southwestern Medical Center Board chair, said in a news release. "Larry has an outstanding record of leading growing health care organizations with great success in key areas like patient safety and the delivery of high quality care. Larry's impressive resume and work history are outstanding but the thing that impressed us all was his sincerity and commitment to service."
Rodgers has more than 20 years of health care leadership experience including, prior to his most recent position at Poplar Bluff, serving as CEO of hospitals in Big Spring and College Station, Texas. Earlier in his career, Rodgers served hospitals in Texas and Missouri as chief operating officer and director of marketing and public relations. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member, teaching undergraduate and advanced courses in marketing and business research methods at William Woods University.

While leading his previous organizations, Rodgers had success in many areas, including patient experience, quality care, and expansion of key hospital services, the company said. Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center received the Excellence Through Insight Award for Most Improved Employee Satisfaction and Engagement. During his time at Scenic Mountain Medical Center in Big Spring, the hospital received a national award from Press Ganey for quality improvement and additional recognition from the American Heart Association.
