Library will offer series of financial workshops beginning on Wednesday
Are you planning your financial future and wanting to manage your money better?
A series of financial literacy workshops hosted by the Lawton Public Library may just be what the CPA ordered.
The series will be held for six weeks beginning Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Historic Patriot Club at 500 Upton Road on Fort Sill through April 4.
The Financial Fitness series will explore budgeting, borrowing, saving and investing money wisely. A free lunch will be provided to participants during the classes.
"We are happy to be partnering with Fort Sill Army Community Service," Kristin Herr, library director, said. "This is the third time the series has been offered by the Lawton Public Library and the second time at Fort Sill. The weekly classes are like building blocks. We start with a session about our attitudes toward money, because that really colors how we spend dollars and deal with our finances."
Eileen St. Pierre, personal financial counselor, will present the series. She has over 20 years experience teaching finance. She holds a Bachelor of Science in finance and economics as well as a doctorate in finance from Florida State University. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a certified financial planner.
