Engineering firm opens office here
An Oklahoma City-based engineering firm has opened a new office in Lawton.
EST Inc. is a full-service engineering firm and has offices throughout Oklahoma and in Colorado.
E. Scott Vaughn, former city engineer and public works director for the City of Duncan, heads the new office at 711 SW C. The office now has a half-dozen employees, he said.
"The potential is within a year or so to expand that to 15 or 20 folks," he said.
EST's clients include state agencies, city and county governments, private organizations and Native American tribes.
"We've long identified that this market is a good market, not only on the city, but Fort Sill, obviously," Vaughn said. "We've been talking about this ... for some time."
The catalyst for the new office in Lawton was the award of a contract to EST in September to provide testing and sampling services from the City of Lawton for the Southwest 52nd Street reconstruction project and the public safety facility work, Vaughn said. "We have been able to put our plans in motion."
