Donations presented to charities
The Apache Hotel Casino on Monday presented more than $8,000 in donations to charities to assist with hurricane relief and recovery in the Houston area.
George Bozier, general manager of the Apache Casino Hotel, on Monday presented checks of $4,822 to the American Red Cross and $3,980 to the Salvation Army.
During September and October, money was collected by the hotel from guests, and the management agreed to match what customers donated. That money went to the Red Cross. In addition, employees donated to hurricane relief and management matched those donations. That money was presented to the Salvation Army.
Bozier said the tribe and the hotel wanted to do something to help with the "terrible destruction" wrought by Hurricane Harvey.
"Please help wherever you can, because what happened down there was horrendous; it will take a long time to fix," Bozier told the recipients of the donations.
