2 companies announce Duncan plans
DUNCAN - Two international companies with headquarters in Houston will take occupancy of new buildings in the North Duncan Industrial Park.
Lyle Roggow, president of the Duncan Area Economic Development Foundation, offered an update last week to members and supporters of the Duncan Chamber of Commerce on the foundation's efforts to entice economic investment in Stephens County.
Short on space to put potential new industrial clients, the foundation was given the go-ahead last year to build three "spec" or "shell" buildings with access to water, gas and electricity and with design flexibility that would allow potential future tenants to tailor space in the buildings to their own needs.
The buildings are now nearing completion, Roggow said. One already has been committed to a company called Total Safety that provides industrial safety services, strategies and equipment for customers in the oil and gas industry. According to its website, Total Safety, headquartered in Houston, has some 3,000 employees in 140 locations around the globe. Roggow said the company will be moving in to a building near Cameron Measurement Systems in the industrial park on U.S. 81 between Duncan and Marlow.
On Friday, Roggow identified another company, Southern Petroleum Laboratories, as another firm that has plans for a location in the industrial park. According to its site, SPL is recognized globally as an industry leader in oil and gas measurement, allocations, auditing, and lab services.
