Seminar to discourage distracted driving
The Comanche Nation Injury Prevention program is hoping to alert young drivers to the dangers of distracted driving.
The public is invited to a Youth Distracted Driving Seminary from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Watchetaker Hall at the Comanche Nation Tribal Complex, 9 miles north of Lawton. The goal of the seminar is to educate youth about the dangers of being distracted while driving a motor vehicle, according to Jolene Schonchin, director of Public Information.
There will be hands-on demonstrations and activities during the event.The Oklahoma Highway Patrol will be speaking during the event, along with the Comanche Nation Law Enforcement, and Bureau of Indian Affairs Police.
