Grants awarded in region

BURNS FLAT  The South Western Oklahoma Development Authority (SWODA) and legislators recently presented grants totaling more than $1.2 million to 36 communities.

Rural Economic Action Plan (REAP) grant recipients are the Town of Mountain View, $99,939 for sewer lift station improvements; Town of Gotebo, $99,250 for a waterline replacement project; and Town of Eldorado, $95,000 for the purchase of a used garbage truck.

Community Enhancement of Nutrition Assistance (CENA) grants were awarded to area senior citizens centers including Lone Wolf, $11,140.13; Blair, $11,028.73; Hobart, $10,583.13; Mountain Park, $10,380.37; Warren, $10,026.12; Snyder, $9,644.34; Roosevelt, $5,280.72; Willow, $2,785.03; Mountain View, $2,412.43; and Gotebo, $2,344.18. Grant funds of $2,783.03 each were awarded to the municipal meal sites in Altus, Hollis, Mangum and Granite.
