Duke boy critical after accident on highway

An 8-year-old Duke boy was flown to an Oklahoma City hospital where he was admitted in critical condition following a Monday wreck in Jackson County.

The unidentified boy was admitted in critical condition with internal trunk injuries, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. 

The boy was riding in a vehicle driven by Amber Murphy, 33, Duke, that was traveling west on U.S. 62 shortly after 3:30 p.m. Her car was struck by a Toyota Sequoia exiting a private drive -mile west of Altus, Trooper Justin Wheeler reported. The driver of the Toyota, Kevin Koukal, 31, Blair, was treated and released at Jackson County Memorial.
