Anadarko man accused of Eakly store robbery
An Anadarko man is in jail in lieu of $500,000 bond after he was charged for his alleged role in a weekend armed robbery in Eakly.
Garrett Cole Cooper, 24, is accused of the Saturday night robbery of the Eakly convenience store. According to the court affidavit, Caddo County deputies recognized Cooper as a suspect in the robbery after seeing video surveillance and from knowing him from prior incidents. Deputy Christopher Leal reported that according to video and a witness statement, Cooper came into the store and purchased an item. He then left and went to a vehicle parked on the lot's far side.
A short time later, two masked people wearing masks and gloves came into the store brandishing guns one armed with a black and silver pistol and the other with an AR-15 type rifle, Leal stated. The clerk said she looked up to see a gun pointed in her face and heard "Give me the money." She turned over some cash and the robbers left in an older model, dark Cadillac or Buick.
Investigators looked at Cooper's Facebook page and a photo of a dark Cadillac for sale, posted on Jan. 25, matched the vehicle description, according to the affidavit. After posting a photo of Cooper on the sheriff's office Facebook page, several people identified him.
