Sooners still alive after Sunday wins
NORMAN Down to its final three outs of the season, No. 10 seed Oklahoma found away to rally as Caleigh Clifton and Sydney Romero powered the Sooners to a walk-off victory over Tulsa, 6-4, in 10 innings on Sunday.
With OU trailing by two heading into the bottom of the 10th, Clifton powered a 0-1 pitch out of the park to tie the game at 4-4. After Shay Knighten's single put the go-ahead run on first, Romero followed with a towering walk-off blast to left field to give the Sooners their second extra-inning win of the weekend.
Paige Lowary kept the Sooners in the game in the circle, tossing 8 1/3 innings of relief out of the bullpen to earn her 14th win of the year. The junior allowed two runs and four hits in her longest relief outing of her collegiate career.
OU will face Tulsa again today at noon at Martia Hynes Field in the NCAA Regional final. The winner advances to play No. 7 seed Auburn in the NCAA Super Regionals.
